It is clear that the main reasons for doing this were to raise funds to pay for the temple’s expenses and to supplement the meager income that was available to it at the time. The shrine was becoming more and more well-known every day. However, some contentious writing about the trustee management appeared in the local newspaper. A few legal disputes came up. The shrine was earning more money, but it was not making the best use of the funds raised. The shrine is a place where devotees find great faith, devotion, and dedication. The previous administration recognized that these disagreements not only undermined the sacred site’s reverence but also affected the number of people entering it.
The Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Temple Trust (Prabhadevi) Act of 1980 transformed it into an independent Act. Shree Siddhivinayak: Beautiful and Hopeful Emotions
Every time Shree Ramakrishna Jambhekar Maharaj, who lived in the Prabhadevi neighborhood of Mumbai, traveled to Akkalkot to see Shree Swami Samarth, the latter emerged from his Samadhi and greeted him. Under the banyan tree, the two used to have hours-long spiritual discussions. Like a mother who eagerly awaits her child and exults upon meeting him, Shree Swami Samarth is fond of Shree Ram Krishna Jambhekar Maharaj. On one such evening, Shree Jambhekar Maharaj was sitting with Shree swami Samarth. When the latter asked, “Ramakrishna, what do you wish to have?” At the time, Shree Jambhekar asked Shree Swami for nothing and told Swami Samarth, “If you give something, please give glory to my Shree Siddhivinayaka!”

The Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Temple Trust is a Government Controlled Trust. Its operations are governed by a State Government Act titled the “Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Temple (Trust) Act, 1980.” Per section 10 (23C) (V) of the Income Tax Act, 1961, the Trust is exempt from taxation.
